Our June Family Fellowship on June 12th found the young'ns and some slightly older folks enjoying a dual of waterslides and small pools of cooling water. Supper was hot dogs, chips and dip, and lots of desserts.....a fun fellowship for the whole family! For more pictures, click here.
The South Talladega Relay for Life Summit took place on May 13th at Central Park. Westview's area was decorated as a train to reinforce our T-shirt message, "All Aboard! Cruising the tracks for a cure." A lot of time and effort went into building our "train." Thanks to all involved. Our fundraising efforts really paid off this year--our most successful yet. All help, donations, time were very appreciated.
The Westview Relay for Life Cruise-In on April 30th was a successful fundraiser and brought vehicles from near and far, including some great classic cars and trucks, as well as recently minted models. Thanks to all who participated! Pictures of all these wonderful vehicles are available here.
As usual, our Christmas fellowship on December 20th was loaded with wonderful food and lots of laughs over "How NOT to make a Fruitcake" and drawing on a paper plate on top of your head! Then add an ugly shirt contest. And the next time we play the right-left game, there will definitely be a video!

TheWestview Relay for Life Team's Tablescape Dinner on December 8th was a tremendous success! So many beautifully decorated tablescapes, all in the Christmas/winter theme. A delicious meal, followed by our inspirational speaker and heart-warming music. Thanks to all who participated and we look forward to seeing you next year! We had an unusual "Trunk of Treats" this Halloween--we were forced inside due to rain--we decorated tables instead of cars! The turnout was good, contact was made, and lots of candy was dispensed! More pictures posted.

Our Family Fun Night in June proved kids aren't the only ones laughing with each other and enjoying their church family. This Bingo Night featured a special "spin" to claim your prize... including gag gifts and the dreaded ZONK, which resulted in various unusual situations (penalties!). The Glory Road Quartet, one of our favorite singing groups, was back at Westview in June. They are from Thomasville, Alabama; their Facebook description is 'Sharing the love of Jesus through traditional "Good Old Southern Gospel" music.
Our Relay for Life Team culminated their fundraising efforts at the Relay for Life event held at the Civic CenterMay 15th, along with 27 other teams from South Talladega County. In their first year as a team, they raised $2,300 and won the Best T-Shirt Design! Congratulations to all who took part.

Our Relay for Life Tablescape Dinner was held March 31st with a fantastic turnout --good food, good fellowship and tables decorated to the "T." Add a wonderful trio of singers plus a laughter-inducing speaker and that about sums the evening up! Thanks to all the ladies who decorated tables, the food preparation folks, and the youth who served as waiters. We are already looking forward to next year. You'll find pictures here.
The popular Randy and Sherri Miller were in concert at Westview January 11th and again on August 11th. Their music ministry, as usual, was packed with praise and worship, plus a lot of laughter.
Our Community-Wide Revival kicked off November 9th and gained momentum throughout the next 3 evenings. Rev Michael McCain, Sr., pastor of New Elam Missionary Baptist Church in Alexander City, was our guest speaker. He brought along his spirited choir to add to the occasion, along with our other talented singers. We finished up with a fellowship time and definitely feeling revived! Click herefor photos.

Our Southern Gospel Singing onAugust 16th featured the group "Renewed," Nikki Ellison, Langley Hallman, and the Sycamore Student Ministry (pictured below). The September 27th singing included Amy Holcomb,Thada Sims, and Louise McGrady. Good music and a good time!
Mike Wilson was ordained as our newest deacon on March 22, 2014. Mike and his wife, Cindy, will be a great addition to our deacons and wives. See more pictures here.
The Women of Westview's annual Conference was February 22nd.
Forty women enjoyed praise and worship, solos by two talented ladies,
several speakers and a fabulous salad lunch buffet among beautiful and
creative tablescapes. The theme was "Snowflakes and Me." Karen Trippe was the featured speaker. See more photos here!
Our Christmas Dinner and Party
on December 22nd was great fellowship--a wonderful meal (with dinner
music, no less!), followed by games and laughter...much laughter! It was
the women against the men in a Christmas Trivia Quiz (the ladies won!),
and then our traditional "Twelve Days of Christmas," performed this

"Hats, Hats, Hats....How Many Hats Do You Wear?" was the theme of the Women of Westview (WOW) Conference on March 2nd. It featured a parade of hats, a typical "hat" day skit, and a hilarious presentation by guest speaker, Charlotte Johnson, along with songs of worship lead by the praise team. Lunch was served by a few brave men to the women seated at lovely tablescapes. A very enjoyable morning for WOW. View all the photos.
